The Rorschacherstrasse shapes the gently undulating landscape between St. Gallen and Lake Constance and serves as the starting point for the new Natural History Museum. The building responds to the neighboring St. Maria Church with a horizontally oriented, low-rise volume that aligns in height with surrounding residential buildings. Two visitor ramps lead into the core of the museum, providing access to flexible exhibition halls with carefully controlled lighting. The façades vary: the lower level features stacked compartments, while the upper level is fully glazed for a clear external appearance and optimal interior lighting. The surrounding traffic and context are consciously integrated.
