0026Cantonal School Cham

The new Eichmatt school district is integrated into a network of built and unbuilt open spaces, forming an important public area with sports and recreational facilities. The school building is divided into three functional areas – school, kindergarten, and music school – and is characterized architecturally by transparent facades and flexible spaces. The buildings are connected to the surrounding terrain and sports areas through different levels. The concept is being implemented in several construction phases, with minimal disruption to school operations. The goal is to create a communicative, open learning environment with high quality of stay and a strong connection to the neighborhood.
