0071School Charmey

The project in Charmey takes advantage of the area's scenic location at the transition from the Charmey valley to the Jaun Pass, using the landscape as a central design element. Urbanistically, it reinforces the village entrance with a new school complex that integrates harmoniously into the existing public infrastructure, including the indoor swimming pool, school, and retirement home. The outdoor spaces, with organic pathways and tree rows, deliberately contrast with the orthogonal sports fields and blend them into the natural surroundings. New access roads and decentralized parking ensure functional circulation. A new pedestrian network connects the school, sports areas, hotel, and village center. The school building follows a clear, sustainable architectural concept with a central exposed concrete core, ample natural light, and compliance with the Minergie-P-Eco standard.
