0077School EMS Collombey-Muraz

The new building in Collombey-Muraz deliberately combines a school and a nursing home (EMS) under one roof, creating a unique community for young and old. It's strategically positioned on the slopes of the Pinte de Bellevue and the Rhône Valley, blending harmoniously into the surroundings with its size and orientation.

The architecture is inspired by the vertical lines of the windbreaks. A public hall with a cafeteria serves as a buffer and meeting place between the two institutions. While the school has its own entrance to the west, access to the EMS, the community hall, and the sports hall is via an esplanade to the north. The EMS offers generous communal areas and loggias, providing residents with a view of the valley. The school has two internal staircases and a central corridor.
