0163University campus Sion

Construction of a new campus for the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland-Wallis (HES-SO) in conjunction with the Valais branch of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).
The building follows the course of the railway tracks, creating an elegant connection to the "cour de gare," Rue de l’Industrie, and the station complex. As a distinctive landmark, it serves as a gateway to the future "21st-century city" and defines clear access in both north–south and east–west directions. It links the train station, bus terminal, new district squares, educational institutions, and the old town, promotes walking and cycling, and integrates a public platform with panoramic views. The compact design allows optimal land use and future expansion. Two universities share the building, which uses industrial-inspired yet welcoming materials. Inside, generous pathways connect all areas efficiently and foster synergies.
