0322New Centre Dorfmatt Rotkreuz
The Dorfmatt Center in Rotkreuz is an open, transparent building with a clear urban presence. Together with the newly designed Dorfmatt and Bahnhof squares, it forms the new heart of the community, bringing together uses such as events, administration, library, meeting café, and housing.
The central element is the modular hall with a warm wood character, complemented by a spacious foyer along Bahnhofstrasse. On the ground floor, the meeting café and multifunctional room combine to create a versatile zone. The library and administration on the upper floor make an architectural statement with a subtle overhang.
Three building volumes – the base, the administration section, and the residential tower – clearly define the building. The supporting structure allows for flexible adjustments over decades. Dorfmatt Square and Bahnhof Square offer attractive outdoor spaces with a grove of trees, water mirror, and climate-adapted design, integrating the center into the urban environment.
