The site in Wankdorf is located in an area characterized by large-scale buildings and high visitor frequency. The design creates a clear urban structure by positioning the new multifunctional hall and congress center, organizing the previously undefined space between the fairgrounds, Guisanplatz, and the hinterland meadow. It strengthens important east-west connections and integrates into the existing layering of residential, administrative, and industrial areas. The fairground plaza is designed as a central, open urban space that connects the buildings. The spacious, transparent foyer serves as the multifunctional core of the complex, allowing flexible uses and creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The design consciously focuses on clear spatial organization, efficient access, and a harmonious integration of urban space and landscape.
