0210Fire Department Kilchberg

The new combined fire station and depot building is being constructed on the border between Rüschlikon and Kilchberg, in a green area below the highway. The heavily contoured terrain is utilized by creating a platform at the level of the existing salt silo. On this platform stands a two-story fire station with a facade of vertical wooden slats, where windows are partially concealed and partially designed as "eyes" facing outward. The depot, with a concrete facade, is located below on the platform. Separate entrances and a clear division allow efficient use of both areas, enabling the fire station and depot to operate quickly and simultaneously in emergencies.
