0156Wohnheim Aesch

The residential project in Aesch is designed as a two-story new building that, through broken volumes, blends harmoniously into the small-scale neighborhood structure. Instead of building upwards, the design focuses on compact floor plans and clearly separated private outdoor spaces. The building is embedded in a garden that serves as a protected space offering retreat and participation opportunities for people with psychosocial challenges. Flowering hedges, orchards, and communal areas create diverse places to spend time. The architecture is open, flexible, and integrative, featuring multiple entrances, retreat areas, and visual connections. The compact layout minimizes land and energy use and promotes socially inclusive, community-oriented living in a natural setting.
