More than 600m3 of local spruce wood was used for the supporting structure of the administration building on the UVEK campus, which is 92% of the wood required for the wood-concrete hybrid construction. The façade is made of 100% Swiss wood. In total, the building achieved a Swiss wood content of 83.5% of the almost 1000m3 of wood used.

The beech wood for the panelling in the auditorium even comes from the federally owned forest.

Martin Frösch, the deputy director of the BBL, received the award at an event organised by Lignum Bern in Ittigen.
